USU ranks high in college ranking for 2009

Utah State University comes in tied for 25th place in college rankings recently published by the Washington Monthly (www.washingtonmontly.com).

USU tied with Johns Hopkins University and University of Maryland behind such notable universties as Harvard, Penn State and MIT.

The Washington Monthly takes an interesting approach to ranking colleges based based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs), and Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).
